Two injured in Ondo road crash hospitalised
It caused public disturbance.
Angry residents would have set the vehicle ablaze but for the timely intervention of policemen and officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
An eyewitness, Samuel Ojo, said the motorcyclist, who carried a passenger, hurriedly made a U-turn on the road, forcing the oncoming vehicle to hit his Okada and its occupants.
They sustained head injuries and were rushed to State Specialist Hospital at Ikare Akoko as emergency patients.
The hospital’s Chief Medical Director (CMD) Dr Wale Oguntuase said both victims were treated and referred to the Federal Medical Centre at Owo.
The Commander of Ikare Unit of the FRSC, Jimoh Basiru, warned road users to note that vehicles plying the road have increased.
This, he said, is due to the diversion of heavy vehicles from Akungba-Iwaro-Oke-Oka to Isua Road, which is under rehabilitation.
The commander called for patience among road users, especially while making U-turn.
Basiru said the use of crash helmet was in force to prevent head injuries in case of an accident.
