Kaduna Abduction!! The Military Refutes Claims Of Delayed Response And Reaffirms Its Dedication To Rescuing Victims.


The Nigerian military has denied claims that its response to the attack in Kurmin Wali community, Kaduna State, where over 100 worshippers were abducted last Sunday, has been slow or lacking proactivity in efforts to rescue the victims.

Some members of the community, located in Kajuru Local Government Area, had reportedly accused the military of a sluggish response, alleging that security forces failed to prevent or swiftly rescue the abducted worshippers.

JUST IN: Seven Killed In Plateau Mining Site Attack


The attack occurred at about 1:00 a.m on Thursday when suspected armed bandits stormed the site with the intention of carting away illegally mined minerals.

Troops of Sector 6, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), were alerted to the incident at about 8:40 a.m. by a local resident and immediately mobilised to the area to restore normalcy.

CAN Condemns Police Communication Over Kaduna Worshippers’ Abduction, Calls For Rescue Of Victims


In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja and signed by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, CAN expressed concern over what it described as poor public communication by the security agencies.

The association said the early response lacked sensitivity and thoroughness, noting that dismissing reports of the incident before proper verification caused confusion and further eroded public confidence in the authorities.
