Bournemouth concluded Liverpool's 13-match unbeaten streak as Amine Adli's strike in the 95th minute clinched a thrilling 3-2 victory for the Cherries on Saturday.
Goals from Evanilson and Alex Jimenez placed the home team in a dominant position, yet Liverpool responded with goals from Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai to equalize.
Nevertheless, Bournemouth achieved only their second win in 15 matches after Adli scored with nearly the final kick of the game.
This defeat will heighten the scrutiny on Liverpool manager Arne Slot, as the Reds are likely to drop out of the Premier League's top four following Sunday's matches.
Slot, who led Liverpool to Premier League success last season, had stabilized the team after a stretch of nine losses in 12 games earlier in the season.
However, the Dutch coach has faced criticism for Liverpool's lackluster performances, even during their unbeaten streak, and they are currently winless in five league matches.
The Reds delivered a strong performance to defeat Marseille 3-0 and edge closer to the Champions League last 16 earlier in the week.

Yet, they once again struggled to break down a Premier League defense after conceding a 2-0 lead to the Cherries.
The visitors controlled possession throughout the match but were punished for two defensive errors within seven minutes of the first half.
Van Dijk was overly casual as he attempted to flick Marcos Senesi's ball over the top for a corner, allowing Alex Scott to seize the opportunity to cross for Evanilson to score.
In his attempt to prevent the goal, Joe Gomez sustained an injury, further depleting Liverpool's already limited options at center-back.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men as Wataru Endo awaited to substitute Gomez when Bournemouth extended their lead.Milos Kerkez was caught dozing off during his return to the Vitality Stadium, allowing Jimenez to slip in behind and score his inaugural goal for Bournemouth.
Van Dijk redeemed himself for his earlier mistake by initiating Liverpool's comeback with a header from Szoboszlai’s corner.
Bournemouth’s Scottish midfielder #10 Ryan Christie (R) and Bournemouth’s English midfielder #08 Alex Scott (L) celebrated their late winning goal during the English Premier League match between Bournemouth and Liverpool at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth, southern England, on January 24, 2026. Bournemouth triumphed with a score of 3-2.
Andy Robertson substituted for Kerkez at half-time, despite being rumored to be moving to Tottenham before the transfer window closes in just over a week.
Liverpool had little to show for their possession in the second half until Szoboszlai’s goal ignited a thrilling conclusion.
The Hungarian executed a free-kick beneath the Marseille wall on Wednesday and this time utilized a flick from Cody Gakpo to create an angle to strike into the far corner.
Almost immediately after kick-off, Liverpool required Alisson Becker to make an outstanding save from Ryan Christie to stop Bournemouth from regaining the lead.
Evanilson then squandered a golden opportunity to clinch the match when the Brazilian shot wide with only Alisson to beat.
Bournemouth could have also faced defeat when goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic made an excellent save to deny Florian Wirtz from scoring in the bottom corner.
However, Andoni Iraola’s team was rewarded for their pursuit of victory when Adli scored from a tight angle after Liverpool failed to clear a long throw.
This victory propels Bournemouth to 13th place, now 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
